Surya Namaskara A & B

  • Beacon Hill Yoga 57 Phillips Street Boston, MA, 02114 United States (map)

Feb 4th, 2018

The sun salutations are often referred to as the “warm up” to the poses following them, and that is for good reason. They are most certainly a staple and the foundation for a strong practice, especially within the Ashtanga and Iyengar sequencing. In this workshop we will break down the suns by dissecting the intricacies of each pose as well as help to deepen the practice by emphasizing both strength and alignment. There will also be variations offered along with props in order to accommodate all body types.

About the Instructor:

Jeanne Kratzsch was certified at Down Under School of Yoga for 200 hours under Natasha Rizopolous in Brookline, MA. Since then she continues her practice under Natasha as well as Mickey Barr, whom she also assists. Both her practice and teaching has been informed by Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga. She feels that  strength and alignment over flexibility is what should be strived for with students in order to have a life long practice. With a slower pace, lots of hands on assists, longer holds, and a little bit of patience she believes anyone can achieve their personal goals. She is here to help every step of the way.
