Barrie rose bliss

Barrie Rose Bliss integrates over a decade of study in yoga, dance, and spirituality into her teaching, drawing on both comprehensive academic training and embodied practice. She completed a 200-hour teacher training in Nepal in the Ashtanga/Vinyasa and Hatha traditions, a 300-hour certification in Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) through the JRI Embodiment Center, and Art of Assisting training at Yoga Down Under in Brookline. Her background includes professional dance instruction as well as experience teaching yoga at Boston College, CorePower Yoga, and in retreat settings. Currently pursuing a PhD in Theology and Comparative Spirituality at Boston College, with a focus on Hindu and Christian contemplative traditions, Barrie weaves together the wisdom of contemplative lineages, trauma-informed practice, and the intelligence of the body into her teaching. Her classes offer a safe, supportive, and presence-rich space to engage the reality, pain, and possibility of embodied living through the practice of flowing (vinyāsa) in and through postures (āsanas) while engaging breath (prāṇa), focus (dṛṣṭi), and inward awareness (pratyāhāra). When she is not teaching yoga or studying, you will find her in the woods with her lovely pomsky dog companion Alabaster.
