Joanne is a classically trained Pilates instructor through Power Pilates of New York City, and holds a national certification through NCPT (Nationally Certified Pilates Instructors). She is also a 500-Hour Certified Yoga Instructor, and completed her yoga teacher training through Yoga Works in Paris. 

After going to the gym for many years, she began taking Pilates mat classes, and immediately noticed increased flexibility and strength, and was using muscles she never had before. This led her to begin her Pilates teacher training in 2010, followed by yoga.

Joanne's approach to teaching mind-body classes is to focus on precise technique and proper muscular engagement in each exercise, with the goal of clients going deeper in the work each time. "There are Pilates exercises and yoga poses I've been doing for years, yet I continue to understand them better the longer I do them."

She enjoys combining her love of travel by visiting studios in every city she visits, both nationally and internationally.
