Kyla Gary

Kyla began practicing yoga as a complement to a life rooted in movement—running, lifting, hiking, surfing, and softball. Initially drawn to yoga for its ability to support strength, flexibility, and recovery, she soon discovered something far more enduring: a sense of grounding and mindfulness that extends well beyond physical performance. Over time, her practice became a steady anchor in her life, reshaping how she relates to discipline and rest.

She completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2022 at House of Om School of Yoga in Bali and began teaching at her undergraduate institution. She later expanded her teaching beyond campus to a juvenile detention facility. Working with complete beginners in a highly structured environment, she cultivated a trauma-informed approach rooted in choice and agency. This experience deepened her understanding of how yoga can support stress regulation, body awareness, and a meaningful sense of autonomy. She is especially drawn to creative vinyasa flows informed by traditional yogic teachings and looks forward to meeting you on your mat!
